Sacha Kendall Jamieson is Senior Lecturer in Social Work and Policy Studies at The University of Sydney. She is a qualitative researcher of health equity, carcerality, and the moral-political activity of professional work. For more than a decade, her research has focused on the incarceration of women, with particular attention to the socio-political and systemic context of women’s imprisonment. Sacha has worked on research projects led by First Nations scholars and Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations on the social and emotional wellbeing of First Nations women in prison and post-release, and on the child protection system and upholding First Nations children’s rights. She is currently writing about social work in the Australian carceral state and anti-carceral feminist social work. Her teaching areas include social work and the law and health inequalities.
