David Blunt was appointed Clerk of the Parliaments and Clerk of the Legislative Council in the Parliament of New South Wales in 2011, having commenced at the Parliament in 1990. David’s parliamentary career has included a range of positions in parliamentary committees, and in supporting the sittings of the Legislative Council including as Director – Procedure, Director – Research, Clerk Assistant, and Deputy Clerk from 2007 to 2011. As Clerk, David is responsible for providing independent and authoritative advice on parliamentary law, practice and procedure to the President, ministers and members of the Legislative Council.
