Mary Crock is Professor of Public Law at the University of Sydney Law School and has worked in immigration law since 1985. Listed in the peer publication Best Lawyers in Australia in immigration law since 2008, Mary is an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law who served as Head Assessor for accreditation programs over 32 years. She has authored 16 books and over 80 articles and book chapters spanning every aspect of migration law from citizenship, labour migration, family and asylum law as well as merits and judicial review. She served as consultant to various senators and to the Australian Human Rights Commission and held leadership roles with Law Societies in Victoria and New South Wales and the Law Council of Australia. With a strong focus on vulnerable migrants and comparative law and policy, Mary has conducted fieldwork across many countries, presenting work to the World Bank and to the UN (on two occasions). She serves on committees for the International Law Association, the Affinity Intercultural Foundation, The Foresight Foundation (a NFP focusing on eye health in Australia and the Asia Pacific region), the Australian Institute for Administrative Law, and is a Director of the NFP Refugee English Language Tutoring Inc (RELT).
