James Stellios is a Professor and Head of School at the ANU Law School. He has published widely in the area of constitutional law, including The Federal Judicature: Chapter III of the Constitution (LexisNexis, 2nd ed, 2020) and the sixth and seventh editions of Professor Leslie Zines’s classic work, The High Court and the Constitution. He is also a barrister at the NSW Bar, Associate Member of 6 St James Hall Chambers, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law. Prior to joining the ANU, James worked at the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department and the Australian Government Solicitor, principally in the area of constitutional litigation, including a period as Counsel Assisting the Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth, David Bennett QC. He has also in the past been a public law consultant to Clayton Utz and Sparke Helmore.
