Allan Anforth AM is a barrister at the ACT Bar who practises nationally in federal administrative law, employment law, human rights and welfare law generally.

Mr Anforth is a part-time senior member of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal, sitting primarily in the residential tenancies and civil disputes jurisdictions of the Tribunal and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra.

Mr Anforth was a part-time member of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and its predecessors for the past 19 years, principally concerned with residential tenancy disputes. He was also a part-time member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (Cth); part-time president of the former ACT Consumer and Trader Tribunal; part-time member of the former ACT Residential Tenancies Tribunal; part-time member of the former ACT Essential Services Consumer Council; part-time member of the Veterans’ Review Board; senior solicitor at the Welfare Rights and Legal Centre; and Director of the ACT Council of Social Services.

Mr Anforth is the co-author of the book series Social Security and Family Assistance Law; co-author of Residential Tenancies Law and Practice in NSW; and a contributor to the book series Annotated Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.
