Lorana Bartels is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Canberra. She has previously held research and policy positions at the Family Court of Australia, the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the NSW Attorney-General’s Department, the NSW Public Defenders Office, the University of Tasmania, the Australian National University and the Australian Institute of Criminology.

Lorana holds Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from the University of New South Wales and a doctorate in Law from the University of Tasmania, and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
