Joanna Kyriakakis is an Associate Professor in Law at Monash University. Her research focuses upon barriers to state and corporate accountability for gross human rights abuses, including via interrogating notions of international and corporate personhood. In 2015, Joanna established units in animal law at Monash University, where they are now routinely taught. She has published in journals such as the Leiden Journal of International Law, Legal Education Review, Melbourne Journal of International Law and the Journal of International Criminal Justice.
