Professor Stephen Dovers is Director, Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian National University, and is a leading scholar of environmental and natural resource policy, the institutional dimensions of sustainable development, disaster management and climate adaptation.

His other works include the edited volumes Environmental History and Policy (Oxford 2000), New Dimensions in Ecological Economics (Elgar 2003) and Managing Australia’s Environment (Federation Press 2003) and the books Institutional Change for Sustainable Development (with R Connor, Elgar 2004) and The Handbook of Disaster Policies and Institutions (with J Handmer, Earthscan 2013).
