Stephen Bottomley is an Emeritus Professor in the ANU College of Law at the Australian National University. His primary research interests are corporate law and corporate governance, corporate regulation, and accountability in the private and public sectors.

Among his publications, Stephen is the co-author of Contemporary Australian Corporate Law (3rd ed, 2024) and Law in Context (4th ed, 2011). He is the author of The Constitutional Corporation: Rethinking Corporate Governance (2007), which was awarded the 2008 Hart Socio-Legal Book Prize for the most outstanding piece of socio-legal scholarship, and The Responsible Shareholder (2021).
