Richard Fox is an Emeritus Professor in the Faculty of Law at Monash University. He is a law teacher and researcher with 50 years’ experience. He was a foundation member of the ANZ Society of Criminology and a former Chair of the Board of Management of the Australian Institute of Criminology. He has been a consultant to the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office, the Victorian Department of Justice and the Victorian Public Accounts and Estimates Committee. He has worked in Australian, Canadian and United States Law Schools and has been a consultant to the Australian, Victorian and Canadian Law Reform Commissions.

In 2008, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for service to the law and to legal education, particularly in the areas of criminal procedure and sentencing.
