Rachel McKee is Programme Director of NZSL Studies in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. She has worked extensively as a sign language interpreter in both New Zealand and the United States, and established university training programs for interpreters and for Deaf teachers of NZ Sign Language (NZSL). Her research publications have focused on language interpreting, linguistic and sociolinguistic analysis of NZSL, and the New Zealand Deaf community.
