Justice Peter Rozen was appointed a Judge of the County Court in Victoria in 2022, before which he had practised at the Victorian Bar since 1998 and had been appointed Senior Counsel in 2019. In practice, he specialised in work health and safety, industrial and coronial cases. Also in 2019, he was appointed senior counsel assisting the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, and in 2021 he served as counsel assisting in the St Basil’s nursing home inquest.

He was also counsel assisting the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry and was a consultant to the Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry into the firefighter training facility at Fiskville. Peter has been a consultant to the International Labour Organization as well as state, territory and commonwealth governments in the field of work health and safety law. He is a fellow of the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law at the University of Melbourne and taught workplace health and safety law in the postgraduate program for 12 years.
