Martin Vranken is a Reader in the Faculty of Law at the University of Melbourne. He trained in the legal families of civil as well as common law, holding a PhD from the University of Leuven and an LLM from Yale University. He has extensive teaching experience in the common law.

Visiting (teaching) appointments include Leuven, the Universities of Washington and Lee, Virginia, Louisiana, and the National University of Singapore. He has published widely in the areas of comparative (European) and labour law.
