Maria O’Sullivan is an Associate Professor at Deakin Law School and leads the Technology-based Harms Research Stream of the Centre for Law as Protection at Deakin University. She teaches and writes in the area of public law, human rights law and migration law. Her work focuses on the importance of power in the formulation and implementation of the law, and she has recently published commentary on concepts of vulnerability and the lived experience of those subject to the law. Maria has also published several papers on the implications of the Royal Commission into Robodebt, the lawful remit of protest and the interaction between human rights law and national security.
