Margaret Fitzherbert has written extensively about politics, the Liberal Party and women. Her articles appear regularly in the national press, and she has contributed chapters to several books and essay collections. Her first book, Liberal Women: Federation to 1949 (The Federation Press, 2004) was shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s History Awards in 2004.
Margaret has worked as an industrial advocate and as an advisor to two federal government ministers. Since then she has worked in various private sector roles managing corporate communications. She lives in Melbourne with her husband and two children.
