Justice Josh Wilson is a Justice of Division 1 of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, having been elevated to that court in March 2019 after being appointed to the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in late 2015.

He was admitted to practise in 1983 and served as the associate to the Honourable Mr Justice Marks of the Supreme Court of Victoria, and later read with Mr Ross Robson (later Robson QC then Robson J). He then practised at the Victorian Bar in commercial and equity cases in Supreme and Federal Courts throughout Australia and in the High Court, taking silk (variously as SC, QC and KC).

He was an adjunct professor in law at Deakin University and served as chair of Deakin University’s Law School board. He regularly lectures in family law at various universities.

He is also an accredited international commercial arbitrator. On taking silk his practice broadened into family law.

He was the judge in charge of the court’s National Arbitration List and now sits on trials and appeals.
