Professor Barbara Pocock is the Director of the Centre for Work and Life at the Hawke Research Institute in the University of South Australia. Barbara has been researching work in Australia for over two decades. Her first degree was in economics and her PhD was in gender studies.
She has worked in many jobs – in universities, advising politicians, on farms, in unions, for governments and as a mother of two. She is widely published. Her books include The Work/Life Collision (2003) also published by Federation Press. She has a life-long interest in work and inequality.
