Andrew Stewart is Professor of Work and Regulation at Queensland University of Technology, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Adelaide, and a Legal Consultant to the national law firm Piper Alderman. One of Australia’s leading experts in employment law and workplace relations, he is a Fellow of both the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and the Australian Academy of Law, and a former President of the Australian Labour Law Association and the Association of Industrial Relations Academics of Australia and New Zealand. He has been an editor of the Australian Journal of Labour Law and provides expert advice to the International Labour Organization, federal and State governments, and a wide range of other organisations. Andrew’s current research includes examining non-standard forms of work (including gig work and internships), pay equity and transparency, the regulation of child work, and the use of post-employment restraints. The author of Stewart’s Guide to Employment Law and lead author of Creighton & Stewart’s Labour Law, he has also written or edited books on workplace cooperation, wage stagnation, internships, contract law and intellectual property.
