Deniz Kayis is a Senior Lawyer practising in civil regulatory law at Australian Government Solicitor in Sydney, Australia.

Deniz is a Section Editor (Unconscionable Conduct and Codes of Conduct) for the Australian Journal of Competition and Consumer Law. She has published papers in that journal and others, including the Competition and Consumer Law Journal and the Australian Journal of Corporate Law. She co-authored the book Anti-Terrorism Law and Foreign Terrorist Fighters (Routledge, 2018) and a chapter in M Gvozdenovic and S Puttick’s Current Issues in Competition Law (Federation Press, 2021). Deniz was also awarded the Gaire Blunt Scholarship in 2020 for her paper on algorithmic collusion.

Deniz was formerly Associate to the Hon Chief Justice Allsop AC of the Federal Court of Australia, and commenced her legal practice at an international law firm. She graduated from the University of New South Wales (BA LLB (Hons I)) as Undergraduate Valedictorian.
