Anne Twomey AO is a Professor Emerita at the University of Sydney. She has previously worked for the High Court of Australia as a Senior Research Officer, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Research Service as a researcher in the Law and Government Group, the Senate Legal and Constitutional Committee as the Committee Secretary, the Cabinet Office of New South Wales as the Manager of the Legal Branch and the University of Sydney as Professor of Constitutional Law. She has written extensively in the fields of constitutional law, electoral law, parliamentary procedure, federalism, the Crown, executive powers and the de-colonisation of Australia. In 2021 she was made an Officer (AO) of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the law, to legal education, and to public education on constitutional matters.
