Dr Lorne Kriwoken
Dr Lorne K Kriwoken is Senior Lecturer in the School of Geography and Environmental Studies and a Research Associate with the Institute of Antarctic & Southern Ocean Studies, University of Tasmania. He lectures and has published widely in the areas of natural resource management, environmental impact assessment and environmental technology. He has over 25 years of environmental consulting experience for diverse clients such as the UN Development Program, Parks Canada and Hydro Tasmania.

His research interests include Antarctic tourism, ocean policy and law, protected areas, and environmental management. Dr Kriwoken has travelled to Antarctica 17 times either as a researcher with the Australian Antarctic Division, an environmental consultant to Antarctic tourist operators or a lecturer on Antarctic cruise ships and overflights. He is a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas, World Conservation Union and a past member of the Tasmanian National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council.
