Tim Kavenagh B Juris, LLB is a senior resources, native title and litigation lawyer with over 30 years’ experience as both a private practitioner and as in-house counsel.

Before joining Hunt & Humphry, Tim developed and managed a successful resources boutique firm in Perth before moving to a senior position with King & Wood Mallesons (as it is now known) working on front-end resources matters, general mining advice and representation in the Wardens Court. He later joined Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd as Senior Corporate Counsel, managing the company’s litigation work involving Supreme Court and mining Wardens Court matters. Immediately before joining the Hunt & Humphry team, Tim was In-House Counsel for Aditya Birla Minerals Ltd where he was responsible for, amongst other things, the running of Supreme Court actions, negotiating and drafting all the Company’s commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and dealing generally with legal matters arising from the running of two mines.

Tim has also acted for small to mid-cap mining exploration companies on capital raisings, ASX listings and general corporate advisory matters. Tim was a director of ASX listed Associated Goldfields NL when it discovered the Obatan gold deposit in Ghana.
