Emeritus Professor Neil Rees is an Australian jurist and legal academic.

He co-founded the University of the Sunshine Coast Law School with his wife, Professor Anne Rees, in 2013 and David Thomas and is the Founding Dean and Chair of Law, Faculty of Law at the University of Newcastle.

In 2017 he received the honour of Member (AM) of the Order of Australia for significant service to the law and to education as an academic, to legal reform, and to mental health and professional organisations.
